Time just flew.... Sorry about that.


I got an A in my first MBA class.  I got involved with an intensive sessions (multiple sessions a week) of tutoring someone.   I mean every time she had time, she was here, and that grew into two study session with another student as well.  Plus I was doing all my work. and  the result was all of us passed our class.

In between that, my mother ended up having surgery, and other stuff caused me to take an unplanned break from the blog for a while. It was crazy.

But that's behind me now.  Time to move onward.

I got the syllabus for my next two classes, and after seeing the work load for statistics, I decided my wisest move would be to drop marketing for now.   For statistics, I have 2 chapters of reading, homework that I must have an 80% on, on-line discussions, as well as class on Saturday morning that during weeks 1,2,4,5, 6 and 7 which have quizzes.  On weeks 3, 6, and 7, I have project parts due.

Class starts next Saturday.   However I am starting the reading and outlining my reading for next week tonight, so by next Wednesday, the homework can be done, and I can start on the reading for next week.  This is the plan.   I also ordered the book printed on demand, so I can highlight.  I am not enjoying reading this stuff on-line.

Life is better, and I am working on getting my cadence down so I can blog, keep the house running, have a life, and handle school.  I also am working on finding work as well.  If nothing shakes out by January, I am going to see if Career services at Keller can help me find something.

Migraines and Management

I have had migraines for years. I have had them for close to 30 years now, but at times it feels more like 300 years.  I have taken a lot of stuff to help with migraines. Unfortunately when you lose your medical benefits, you have to adjust.  And by adjust I mean find things that work that don't need to come from a doctor you can't afford.  So here is stuff that I take when the pounding in my head is starting off.  I nearly had a heart attack when Excedrin Migraine when off the market, and I swear that Advil Migraine for me, works on the ones that are step up from the Excedrin but not enough to warrant using one of the limited supply of prescription medication I have.    Now these are the key, though the bottles may change and thus the amount of pills but I swear that Magnesium and fish oil have made the biggest difference in my brain.  The B-Complex plus additional B6 also work really well.  I can tell if I am messing up taking my vitamins.  The other stuff is just

Friday Favorites - 9/13/19

My helper in my planner My day job is as a back-office manager in a high-end showroom.  I process a lot of paperwork.  Right now, my favorites are going to have a workday theme as pulling 10 hour days does that to a person.   So here are some things that I always work with as well as peek at my planner, since it seems to be planner season on a bunch of different blogs. I spent Labor Day weekend trying to get my life in order.

I was going to do a well researched, thoughtful post about time management.  Cause right now, not even before starting at Grad School, I am always racing against the clock.  I know part of my problem is that I have serious problem with the internet and get sucked in.  So I am working on that.   Yet between family obligations, housework, looking for work, helping with various projects, volunteering at the Squad, Mystical Wonders needs, the desire to exercise, social obligations I would like to do... I feel like I am being pulled in about 10 directions at any given moment. So I spent time reading about different methods of time management,  blocking out time, the value of multitasking, the value of not multitasking, and other things.  You know what?  I didn't gain any wisdom.  It seems like everyone, their brother, and great aunt has their own ideas about a "fail proof" way to get life in order and keep things humming along.
